Welcome I am a freelance corporate writer and author based in Edmonton, Canada. I have more than 30 years of freelance writing services for corporations, government institutions and non-profits, I can provide you with timely articles, speeches, SEO content, lyrics, and other written material, on time and competitively priced. In fact I invite you to check out our articles on this site. I am currently working on the 4th Edition of my book Ten Steps to Help You Write Better Essays & Term Papers. This is a small, narrow book – about 140 pages. I originally wrote it for first year college/university students because I didn’t see anywhere anything that was compact and user-friendly. Most books on writing essays and term papers are both extensive and expensive. Some are excellent, like Diana Hacker’s A Writer’s Reference – Sixth Edition. Part of the reason they’re extensive is that they contain everything about writing, including grammar. I don’t deal with grammar. My goal is communication. Can you say what they want to say more easily and effectively? That’s it. Not that grammar isn’t important, but can you get your message across? We’ve sold close to 35,000 copies of the book. What’s interesting to me is who’s buying it. Besides English programs and general writing materials, nursing programs and teacher training programs have found it useful. So have a number of high schools as well as small career colleges and programs for students where English is not their first language. The third edition of this book is available as an e-book from this site. My other book – How to Write Proposals, Sales Letters & Reports –is something I’m very proud of. Since I’ve done a lot of writing for corporations, I always felt that small business and entrepreneurs were neglected and could use something succinct and easy to follow. My writing background is pretty extensive. I’ve done a lot of copywriting, early on for radio and then for TV commercials. Recently I’ve been involved in writing content for the web, usually web copy or articles. I’ve written articles on many different topics from weight loss programs to Internet marketing to insurance. My own writing on the web can be found in 55 articles on Ezine Articles – I’m a platinum level author – and most of those articles deal with business writing and writing in general.
I have considerable background in writing videos for products, customer service and sales meetings. Speech writing is a strong element, particularly motivational, not hype, required for sales meetings, corporate launches and organizational change.
I confess I’ve had great enjoyment out of writing lyrics for special occasions – usually sales award events – and humor is something I like to add wherever possible.
I like to write to inform. My style tends to be short and to the point. I can take complex information, or convoluted texts and make them understandable.
